Multiple copy switch (minimum 1-99 copies). 114.
Capability to copy carbonless blues (see Test Procedure II).
Operator activated control which provides for darkening or lightening of copies.
Shall copy to within 7 min of the edge of the paper.
In style 2 machines one reduction mode shall produce copies that are 64 + 3 percent the size of the original, the second mode shall produce copies that are 74 + 4 percent the size of the original, and the enlargement mode shall produce copies that are 120 + 10 percent the size of the original. in style 3 machines the reduction and enlargement modes shall correspond to the requirements for style 2 copiers.
in styles 3 and 4 machines sorters shall have a minimum of ten(10) receiving bins.
Performance requirements. The machine shall provide copies which have the following minimum qualities when tested as specified in Test Procedure L Paper used for testing shall conform to the requirements of Commercial item Description A-A-1912, issue in effect on the date of the Request for Proposal (RFP). Copies of the test targets presented as Figures I and II are for illustrative purposes only.
Actual targets should be obtained from the sources
referenced.
Resolution. Resolution shall equal or exceed 4.0 line pairs per
millimeter.
Half-tones. The finished copy shall show at least three (3) distinct gray shades
(excluding background).
Blackness, density. The solid darkest area on the finished copy shall
show a reflectance of 10 percent or less. Adjacent background areas shall show
a reflectance of SO percent or greater.
Carbonless blue. The average reflectance shall be 50.0 percent or less.
Test procedure L. The copiers shall be installed in accordance with the
manufacturer's normal commercial practice. Copies shall be made in accordance
with the following procedure:
1. Turn on and warm up machine.
2. Place the resolution target (Figure I) in position for reproduction.
3. Set the darkness/lightness control per the manufacturer’s operating
instructions. If no instructions are provided, the control shall be set at the
middle of its range.
4. Make twelve (12) runs of ten (10) copies each, so that a total of 120 copies
are produced. Runs shall be made at ten (10) minute intervals so that the total
copies arc produced within a 2 1/2 hour period.
5. The 11th, 55th, and 120th copies shall be removed for evaluation.
6. Repeat steps 2. Through 5., using the IEEE test target (Figure II).
