Test Procedure II (Copying Carbonless Blues):
1. Turn on and warm up the machine.
2. Make five (5) copies each of the color standard charts - Hue symbol 5 PB, 7.5 PB, and 10 PB from the “Munsell Book of Color Matte Finish Collection” with the darkness/lightness control set to make the darkest copies.
3. From each group of 5 copies choose the 5th copy and perform the evaluation.
Evaluation:
Take the 5th copy of the 5 PB Hue Color Chart and using visual evaluation match the lightest symbol in the 7 Value (’J) line with one of the neutral grays of the “Munsell Neutral Value Scale” and record the reflectance value.
Repeat the above using the 7.5 PB and 10 PB Hue symbols.
Take the average of the three reflectance values and use it to determine compliance with the performance requirements under Carbonless Blue.
Test procedure 111 (Copy Speed):
1. The copy quantity selector will be set at 6 (one plus the required minimum speed of 5 copies per minute).
2. The “START” control will be activated; measurement of elapsed time will begin when the first copy is deposited in the receiving bin.
3. The elapsed time will end when the last copy is deposited in the receiving bin.
4. The elapsed time will be noted. If 60 seconds or less have elapsed, the copier will be judged to have passed the examination. If more than 60 seconds have elapsed, the copier will be judged to have failed the examination. An offeror may, at his/her discretion, request one retest of equipment failing this examination, and such a request will be granted. The offered copier will again be subjected to the above procedure. A second failure to meet this requirement will be considered final.
Identification. Each copier shall have the manufacturer’s serial number permanently and legibly stamped or affixed on a major component in a readily accessible location. In addition each copier shall be permanently and legibly marked in a conspicuous location with the manufacturer’s name or trademark.
