COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
PLATE, LITHOGRAPHIC PRINTING, METAL
SENSITIZED, WITH PROCESSING CHEMICALS
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of
this commercial item description in preference to MIL-P-13692D.
The description covers an aqueous type sensitized lithographic
plate and processing chemicals, for lithographic offset printing,
including line work and up to and including a 300 line screened
image.

Design.
Description.
The sensitized plates shall consist of aluminum
sheets with a light sensitive coating which shall form a
positive lithographic image when exposed to light through a
negative and developed with the processing chemicals
furnished.
Classificat ion.
The lithographic plates shall be of the
following type and lengths as specified:
Type
- Aluminum
Size A
- 27 inches by 30 inches
Size B
- 27-1/4 inches by 32-1/2 inches
The alloy and temper for the aluminum sheet shall be
Type.
those normally used by the contractor. The thickness of
the sheet shall be 0.008. Variations in thickness within a
given sheet shall not exceed 0.001 inch.
