COPYING MACHINE, INDIRECT ELECTROSTATIC PROCESS

(PLAIN PAPER)

The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this commercial item description.

This commercial item description covers indirect electrostatic process copying machines having specific characteristics as hereinafter defined.

Classification:

Class A - A manual feeding of original documents.

Style 1 - no reduction, enlargement, or sorting capabilities required.
Style 2- minimum of two reduction modes plus one enlargement mode, sorter not required.
Style 3- minimum of two reduction modes plus one enlargement mode, with sorter.
Style 4- with sorter, no reduction or enlargement modes required.

Class B - semi-automatic document feed.

Salient characteristics:

Copy machines shall be newly
Copy speed - 12 letter-size (3 manufactured (not rebuilt or remanufactured). 1/2� X 11�) copies per minute, minimum.
Maximum delivery time for first copy (after warmup) - S seconds.
To operate on 120 volts AC 60 HZ electrical current.
Flat-bed platen. Minimum size for classes 1 and 4 shall be 8 1/2� X 14�, and minimum size for classes 2 and 3 shall be 11� X 17�.
Self-diagnostic system consisting of a minimum of three (3) lighted indicators which identify (a) needing toner, (b) needing papers and (c) paper misfeed or jam.
Paper trays (minimum of two to be furnished) having combined abilities to handle paper sizes described below.
Capability to copy on the following mediums, as a minimum:

(a) Plain cut sheet paper conforming to the requirements of Commercial

Item Description A-A-1912, two sizes; 3 1/2� X 11� and 8 1/2� X 14�.

(b) Self-adhesive labels.
