COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
PAD, LITHOGRAPH
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this
Commercial Item Description in preference to Military
Specification MIL-P-43296
Salient characteristics:
Pad dimensions. 100 x 100 (+ 6) mm, when folded in half.
Minimum average weight, 2.0 grams.
Material. 100 percent clean, bleached, lintless, nonwoven.
Binders. Use of binding materials is prohibited.
Workmanship. pads shall free from holes, cuts, tears; spots, or stains, embedded foreign matter or excessive loose fibers or lint.
QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS
Responsibility for inspection and tests. Unless otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the supplier is responsible for the performance of all inspection requirements as specified herein.
Sampling. Sampling for visual inspection shall be in accordance with the provisions of MIL-STD-105. Unless otherwise specified, Inspection Level II with AQL 2.5 percent defective for visual inspection.
Inspection. Samples selected in accordance with the requirements herein shall be visually inspected to verify conformance to dimensional and workmanship requirements of the CID. Any departure from specified requirements may be grounds for rejection.
Regulatory requirements. In accordance with Section 23.403 of the
Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), the Government’s policy is to acquire items composed of the highest percentage of recovered materials practicable, consistent with maintaining a satisfactory level of competition without adversely affecting performance requirements or exposing supplier’s employees to undue hazards from the recovered materials.
